Aerospace
Aerospace

Aerospace engineering is considered one of the most comprehensive branches of engineering. In this field, the primary focus lies in designing airplanes, spacecraft, and all flying vehicles. Consequently, a wide spectrum of engineering sciences, from aerodynamics to structural analysis and design, encompasses the necessary knowledge for aerospace engineers. It can confidently be stated that human progress in many realms of science and technology owes much to the efforts and advancements in aerospace-related industries. On the other hand, the latest achievements of researchers in various fields find applications in aerospace industries and their related branches. The Aerospace Engineering group, part of the Mechanical Engineering department, was established in 1374 (1995) during the master's program in aerospace engineering with specializations in aerodynamics, propulsion, aerospace structures, and flight mechanics. Furthermore, in 1389 (2010), doctoral student admissions for the aerospace engineering program commenced.

Applied Mechanics
Applied Mechanics

One of the primary objectives of this department is to educate specialists, designers, researchers, and educators. Graduates of this program pursue careers in industrial and research centers, contributing to the planning, analysis, implementation, monitoring, and resolution of scientific and industrial challenges within the field of mechanical engineering in the country.
The department is equipped with specialized laboratories covering areas such as dynamics, control, vibrations, impact mechanics, fracture mechanics, pressure vessels, composites, and additive manufacturing.

Energy Conversion
Energy Conversion

The Energy Conversion Group of Tarbiat Modares University consists of faculty members specialized in energy fields including building energy, multiphase flows, renewable energies, combustion, and artificial intelligence. Offering master's and doctoral programs, the group focuses on educating students and developing the necessary skills for studying and researching in these areas.

Manufacturing Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering

Manufacturing engineering is undoubtedly one of the fundamental branches of mechanical engineering. This is because other engineering disciplines, and even non-engineering ones like medicine and agriculture, require manufacturing engineers to produce their equipment and machinery. The Manufacturing Engineering Group at Tarbiat Modares University, with over 33 years of experience, is one of the most active groups in the Mechanical Engineering Faculty. It consists of 8 faculty members (four professors, one associate professor, and three assistant professors).
